The United Nations and its 193 member countries set a course in 2015 to create 17 goals aimed at transforming our world by the year 2030. These world wide objectives are known as the "Sustainable Development Goals" (SDGs) and include eradicating hunger, eliminating poverty, battling climate change, protecting life in the oceans and seeking alternative renewable energy sources for powering our future. The SDGs are of critical importance to humanity and the world we live in.
